EMBARQ to Kick Off Conference in Quito

The three day conference will focus on sustainable urban transport in the Andes.

EMBARQ, along with CORPAIRE, will be organizing a three day conference in Quito from July 29-31, 2008 on the topic of sustainable urban tranport in the Andes.  As is the case in many rapidly expanding cities, the challenge of traffic congestion and deteriorating air quality is now beginning to have deliterious effects on Andean cities.  The conference will feature international experts, including Dario Hidalgo, EMBARQ's Bus Rapid Transit specialist, who will talk about innovative solutions to the problem of urban mobility.
